A jury found Hance Adams not guilty of all charges Tuesday, including criminal libel, the Miami Herald reported Wednesday. He was also charged with child abuse because fliers were left at the school attended by the woman's son.
During the brief trial in Broward County, prosecutors presented no testimony from witnesses who had seen Adams distributing the fliers. His former girlfriend testified and admitted that she failed to tell Adams she had herpes until he had become infected.
The fliers included the woman's name, address and telephone number. Prosecutors said that pictures came from a videotape the couple made during their relationship, which was shown to the jury.
"I think the key was the credibility of the witnesses involved," defense lawyer Helene Raisman. "I think justice was done in this case."
