Tibetan teens stage 'polite' protest

KATHMANDU, Nepal, March 28 (UPI) -- About two dozen Tibetan high school students, carrying a home-made "Free Tibet" sign, scaled a brick wall Friday at the U.N. compound in Kathmandu, Nepal.
They sought assistance from the United Nations in their cause, John Brittain, a U.N. spokesman told The New York Times.
Brittain said the teens were polite and were asked to write their grievances for U.N. officials. Then, they had a steamed dumplings lunch and were escorted home. No one was arrested.
Meanwhile, police reported arresting about 60 demonstrators outside the compound. Extra police have been posted outside its gates since Tibetan protests began about two weeks ago.
