DALLAS, March 28 (UPI) --
Dallas officials are considering new regulations on sexually oriented business following reports that a 12-year-old girl stripped at a Dallas club.
The sixth-grader was reported as having danced for a two-week stint last year at Diamonds Cabaret in northwest Dallas, the Dallas Morning News reported Friday. A 17-year-old girl was also employed by the club, police said.
"We have to protect the safety of minors. Who would have thought that we would find a 12-year-old in one of those places?" said Mayor Pro Tem Elba Garcia.
Current law does not authorize the city to close the club for employing a minor, the report said.
Diamonds stripper Demonica Abron, 27, and David Bell, 22, who doesn't seem to have worked for the club, face charges related to the sixth grader's employment as a stripper, the newspaper said.© 2008 United Press International. All Rights Reserved.
