PITTSBURGH, March 28 (UPI) -- Pennsylvania political observers say they're disappointed that the Democratic presidential candidates have not spent more time in the Keystone State.
The Politico reported Friday that pundits had predicted that Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would all but take up residence in Pennsylvania ahead of the state's April 22 primary, which falls many weeks after the previous primaries.
"We feel neglected here," said Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, who has not endorsed a candidate. "People just assumed that, because they had such a long period, they would spend a lot of time in the state."
Politico said that Clinton has campaigned seven days this month in Pennsylvania, while Obama held events on only three days. Obama has instead spent time campaigning in Indiana, North Carolina and Oregon.
"He seems to be every other place than Pennsylvania," Pawlowski said. "The fact that he hasn't been around is a downer for a lot of his supporters. I know there are many here."
