CHARLEVILLE-MEZIERES , France, March 27 (UPI) --
A 65-year-old Frenchman faces trial on charges of murdering seven young women and sexually assaulting several others.
Prosecutors say Michel Fourniret has admitted killing six women in France and one in Belgium over a 16-year-period between 1987 and 2003 and led police to some of the bodies.
His wife, Monique Olivier, 59, will be tried later in connection with the deaths. She allegedly lured the victims to her husband's van.
Fourniret's trial was scheduled to open Thursday in a specially constructed courtroom in Charleville-Mezieres in France's Ardennes region and is expected to last two months, EuroNews.net reported.
