FARMERS BRANCH, Texas, March 26 (UPI) --
Officials in Farmers Branch, Texas, say they mistakenly sent documents to landlords asking them to enforce a ban on renting apartments to illegal immigrants.
The incident last week led to a contempt-of-court motion filed by an attorney who earlier had filed suit against the ban - which was passed last May in the Dallas suburb but has been thus far blocked by a federal judge.
City officials told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Wednesday that the erroneous apartment license renewal forms would be corrected. However, plaintiff lawyer Michael Jung said the mistake was great enough that Farmers Branch should be cited for contempt.© 2008 United Press International. All Rights Reserved.
