A lower court awarded Kings Island $20 million. But the appeals court agreed with Admiral Insurance Co. that its policy with Roller Coaster Co. of Ohio excluded the kind of damage that caused the accident on the Son of the Beast roller coaster, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported Wednesday.

The crash in July 2006 injured 27 people. The lower court found that the amusement park lost millions of dollars investigating the accident and repairing the Son of the Beast.

The manufacturer has since gone out of business.

The accident spawned a number of lawsuits, most of them brought by people who were hurt.
