Jefferson Parish Sheriff Hewell Normand identified the suspects as Joseph Madsen of Metairie and Cory Odenwald of River Ridge, both 17, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.
Normand said the sheriff's office became aware of the threats about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Madsen was arrested Friday morning and Odenwald was taken into custody about 2:30 p.m.
Normand said several guns, belonging to Madsen's father, were confiscated.
"We will not tolerate intimidation or fear placed on any of the patrons at Clearview," Normand said.
He announced that all corners of the mall will be under video surveillance and that the deputy presence at Clearview will be significantly beefed up this weekend.
This is the second curfew weekend for Clearview, with teens 16 and under not allowed in without an adult from 4 p.m. to closing Friday and Saturday.
