ASUNCION, Paraguay, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Paraguay has issued a nationwide health alert in hopes of stopping an outbreak of dengue fever in the South American country.
According to health officials, at least 150 suspected cases of the mosquito-born illness have been detected in Paraguay since the start of the year, ABC Color newspaper reported Wednesday.
Last year, 17 Paraguayans died of dengue fever, prompting some to blame President Nicanor Duarte for not issuing nationwide warnings about the disease.
