Parents of 'nameless' children face fines
Monday, December 1
A 5-month-old infant and another child both were transported to a hospital with smoke inhalation, and the house and at least two cars were destroyed in the blaze, the Miami Herald reported.
There were no fatalities but firefighters said it took all of their experience to battle the flames.
"If there is a fire that puts together all of our abilities, all of our training, this is it," said Lt. Eddy Ballester of the Miami-Dade Fire Department. "It's a miracle no one died today."
The house was divided into seven bedrooms and had bars on all of its windows, making it more difficult for the occupants to get out and firefighters to get in.
It took six trucks and 30 firefighters from Miami-Dade to control the fire.
