Attorneys Maggie Rae and Sandra Davis, testifying during an inquest into Diana's death, said they first heard her express her worries at a meeting in October 1995, Sky News reported Tuesday.

While Davis said those present did not believe the fears were credible, the law firm informed police of Diana's concerns in 1997. Diana said she believed "they" wanted to get rid of her but no one ever asked who "they" were or pressed her on who her source was, Davis testified.

Rae said Diana appeared to be lonely during that period of her life.

"I thought she lived in a very odd environment. I thought that she was quite lonely," she said. "I remember one occasion she told me about her weekend. She had been alone in those rather silent apartments heating her own food in a microwave."

Diana died following a car accident in Paris on Aug. 31, 1997.
