TEL AVIV, Israel, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- A Tel Aviv, Israel, auction house has sold two yellow badges that were used to identify Jews during the Nazi era.

The items, Star of David-shaped yellow badges marked with the word "Jew," were among 1,344 items sold Sunday at the Ben Ami Anders Auction House in Tel Aviv, Ynetnews reported Monday.

A representative of the auction house said the badges "occasionally find their way to auctions." Employees said they didn't see any ethical problem with selling the items, which have come to be associated with the Holocaust.

"These are not rare items. They are available in every Holocaust museum. These are not Nazi icons which the law forbids to sell," the representative told Ynetnews.
