ATLANTA, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Atlanta police sought a man who allegedly put another man in a coma when an altercation erupted over videotaping of the mayor's daughters outside a nightclub.

Atlanta police issued an arrest warrant Saturday for Apollo Holmes, 24, who is suspected of aggravated assault for an attack Wednesday against Darius Miller, 41, in the parking lot of a popular midtown Atlanta nightclub, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said Sunday.

The row allegedly developed when Holmes videotaped a holiday celebration at the nightclub Christmas night attended by Kai Graham and Kali Franklin, the daughters of Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.

Accounts vary, but one version says Miller intervened against the videotaping and was attacked by 10 men in response. Another version says the sisters started the conflict when they demanded a camera from photographers. Miller allegedly struck his head in the ensuing confrontation.

"(Miller) heard the argument between the mayor's daughters and he jumped into the middle of it," Holmes attorney said.

The mayor's office issued a statement criticizing the news media for a trial by public opinion saying, "all comments … are best made to Atlanta Police Department and not the press."
