RAWALPINDI, Pakistan, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- The body of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, the victim of a suicide attack, was buried Friday next to her father in her family's graveyard.

Bhutto was buried next to her father, former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, GEO TV reported Friday.

CNN reported Bhutto's funeral procession had a difficult time making headway from Rawalpindi General Hospital when the streets were packed with supporters of the former prime minister and chairwoman of the Pakistan People's Party.

At least nine people were killed in rioting before the start of the funeral procession, CNN reported.

"It's all mayhem everywhere," Shehryar Ahmad, an investment banker in the city oif Karachi, told CNN. "There's absolutely no order of any kind. No army on the streets. No curfew."

GEO TV said more than 100 vehicles were set on fire by protesters while 16 banks around the country were also set on fire.

Bhutto was assassinated Thursday as she left a political rally. She was apparently shot as she stood in her car to wave to supporters. The gunman is then believed to have set off an explosive device that killed about 20 other people, including the attacker.
