TUUSULA, Finland, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- The teenage gunman who killed eight people at a high school in Finland had stockpiled a large supply of ammunition before to his deadly rampage.

Newsroom Finland Thursday said 18-year-old Pekka-Eric Auvinen had about 400 rounds in his possession, enough to potentially kill every student at his school in southern Finland.

Auvinen fired 69 shots during Wednesday’s rampage, killing six classmates, the school's nurse and the principal before turning the gun on himself. Several other students were injured in the rush to get away from the shooting spree.

Teachers described Auvinen as being interested in radical causes and noted the shooting came on the 90th anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution in Russia. He was also described as being the victim of bullying by other students.

Auvinen had posted a video on the Internet YouTube site Tuesday showing the school and him pointing a gun at the camera. The site has removed the video.

Finland observed a national moment of silence for three minutes Thursday while flags were lowered to half-staff.
