Boy, 14, admits planning school attack

NORRISTOWN, Pa., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- A teenager admitted Friday he planned an armed attack on a high school in the Philadelphia suburbs.
The 14-year-old was charged as a juvenile, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Judge Paul Tressler, who presided at the hearing in Montgomery County, said the boy will be held in a juvenile facility, with the length of his stay depending on his response to treatment.
The boy was arrested two weeks ago after police got a tip that he was planning to imitate the shootings at Columbine High School in Colorado. Police found a 9 mm carbine in his room along with knives, bayonets and 30 BB guns.
No ammunition for the carbine turned up, and investigators said that they did not believe an attack was planned soon.
The boy had dropped out of Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School because of bullying and was being taught at home.
His mother faces charges for buying him the carbine.
