LEEDS, England, Dec. 31 (UPI) --
A arrest has been made in Leeds, England, in the murder of British policeman Ian Broadhurst and the attempted murder of two other officers.
The man arrested is believed to be 37-year-old American Nathan Coleman, who has been questioned by West Yorkshire police in Leeds, the BBC reported Wednesday.
Broadhurst was killed Dec. 26 after he and colleagues stopped a man in a stolen car and questioned him in Leeds.
His partner, Neil Roper, 45, of Wakefield, England, was shot twice and is recovering in the hospital.
A third officer, James Banks, 26, escaped injury when a bullet ricocheted off his radio belt and the buckle on his baton, the BBC said.© 2003 United Press International. All Rights Reserved.
