PITTSBURGH, May 18 (UPI) -- The Pittsburgh Penguins battered the Philadelphia Flyers 6-0 Sunday, advancing to the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time since 1992.

Penguins' goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury recorded his third shutout of the 2008 playoffs, blocking 21 shots to help his team win the Eastern Conference title in five games.

Ryan Malone led the Penguins' attack with two goals and an assist. Marian Hossa added a goal and three assists.

Evgeni Malkin, Jordan Staal and Pascal Dupuis got the other Pittsburgh goals, and Sidney Crosby and Maxime Talbott each had two assists.

Pittsburgh scored all its goals on Flyers' goatender Martin Biron, who finished with 25 saves.

The Penguins, who won back-to-back Stanley Cup titles in 1991 and 1992, will play either Detroit or Dallas for the cup. The Red Wings and Stars will meet Monday in Dallas for Game 6 of their Western Conference Finals, with Detroit leading the series 3-2.
