NEW ORLEANS, May 14 (UPI) -- David West's 38 points and 14 rebounds Tuesday lifted New Orleans to a 101-79 win over San Antonio and a 3-2 lead in their Western Conference semifinal series.

West hit 16 of 25 from the field en route to personal playoff bests in those categories. He also blocked five shots and had five assists. The Hornets, who committed just six turnovers, got another 22 points and 14 assists from Chris Paul.

Manu Ginobili scored 20 points and had seven assists for the Spurs. Tony Parker added 18, and Tim Duncan finished with 10 points and 23 rebounds.

Hornets center Tyson Chandler was helped to the bench with 8:47 left in the fourth quarter after hurting his left foot. He didn't return.

Game 6 of the best-of-seven series will be Thursday in San Antonio.
