MLB: N.Y. Mets 8, Cincinnati 3

FLUSHING, N.Y., May 11 (UPI) -- Carlos Beltran hit a home run and drove in three runs Sunday, leading the New York Mets past Cincinnati 8-2.

Beltran ripped a two-run homer into the right-field seats in the fifth inning and sent another run home with a double in the first, helping the Mets build a 6-0 lead.

Ryan Church also homered in the fifth inning for New York, which has won three of four games.

Starter Oliver Perez (3-3) got the win, giving the Reds their three runs before leaving after six innings.

Rookie Johnny Cueto (2-4) was the loser, yielding six runs and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.
