CHICAGO, May 11 (UPI) -- Reed Johnson slammed a two-run homer and Daryl Ward a two-run, pinch-hit double for the Chicago Cubs Sunday in a 6-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Ward's drive into the right-center field gap put the Cubs ahead in the eighth inning after Johnson had tied the game with his shot in the seventh.

Rain delayed the start of the contest by nearly one hour.

Carlos Marmol (1-0) was the winner in relief and Kerry Wood got his seventh save.

Conor Jackson tripled and drove in two runs for Arizona, which has lost six of its last eight games.

Reliever Tony Pena (0-1) took the loss.
