KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 8 (UPI) -- Daniel Cabrera threw a complete game Thursday, allowing the Baltimore Orioles to halt a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 decision over Kansas City.

Cabrera (3-1) surrendered only three hits and struck out seven.

Nick Markakis hit a three-run homer to help the Orioles hand Kansas City its third loss in four games.

Luke Hochevar (2-2) absorbed the setback, giving up four runs on five hits in seven innings.

Hochevar threw a wild pitch in the first that allowed Markakis to score the game's opening run and the Orioles tacked on three in the third.

Freddie Bynum opened the inning with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch before Brian Roberts struck out. Melvin Mora then drew a walk and Markakis followed with his seventh homer of the year.
