LOS ANGELES, March 28 (UPI) -- Erik Ersberg made 35 saves for his second shutout of the season Thursday in carrying the Los Angeles Kings to a 4-0 blanking of Phoenix.

The Kings had lost all seven previous meetings with the Coyotes this season, but Kevin Dallman touched off a three-goal second period and Los Angeles rode the hot goaltending of Ersberg.

Ersberg, trying to win a full-time job for next season, has won four of his last six starts.

Dallman beat Mikael Tellqvist with a slap shot at 6:52 of the second for the game's opening score. Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown added goals in the second period and Rob Blake produced another in the third.

The Coyotes have seen their playoff chances disappear while losing six out of seven games.
