OAKLAND, Calif., March 28 (UPI) -- Stephen Jackson led the way with 24 points Thursday and the Golden State Warriors dominated the third period to defeat Portland 111-95.
The Warriors, who have split their last eight games, moved within a half game of Dallas for the seventh playoff spot in the Western Conference.
The battle for the final two playoffs positions in the West will go down to the final week among three teams, with Dallas currently standing at 45-27, Golden State at 44-27 and Denver at 44-28.
Golden State trailed by eight after one period and by one at the half, but outscored the Trail Blazers by 20 in the third quarter. The Warriors enjoyed a 23-8 run in that quarter and limited Portland to 40 percent shooting for the game.
Monta Ellis added 18 for the Warriors and Al Harrington had 12.
