NBA: Detroit 85, Miami 69

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 27 (UPI) -- Jason Maxiell and Aaron Afflalo led a balanced attack Thursday and the Detroit Pistons held Miami without a point for the final 4:56 to down the Heat 85-69.

Maxiell and Afflalo both scored 15 points and Chauncey Billups and Rasheed Wallace had 13 each.

Miami led by as many as nine points in the first half, but collapsed down the stretch and lost for the 13th time in 15 games. Blake Ahearn led the Heat with 15 points.

The game was tied four minutes into the second half, but Detroit finished the third period on a 17-6 run to take control. Miami closed back within four points with 4:56 to play, but did not score again.
