ONEONTA, N.Y., March 10 (UPI) -- North Carolina women's Coach Anson Dorrance and longtime men's U.S. national team member Hugo Perez have been selected for the National Soccer Hall of Fame.

Dorrance had stints as both the men's and women's coach at North Carolina, including several seasons of handling both teams at the same time. The Tarheels men were 172-65-21 over 12 years with Dorrance.

The North Carolina women won the NCAA championship 19 times in 28 seasons, including nine consecutive titles from 1986-94. While Dorrance coached the Tarheels women's team, North Carolina ran up a 648-32-19 record.

Perez played for several professional teams while appearing in 73 international games for the U.S. national team. He scored 13 international goals and appeared in the 1994 World Cup for the United States.

Both Dorrance and Perez were elected on the Builder and Veteran Player balloting. In the 2008 Player voting, no player received the 75 percent vote support needed to gain election to the hall.
