UNIONDALE, N.Y., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Andy Sutton scored the deciding goal Saturday when the New York Islanders topped the New Jersey Devils 5-2.

Sutton's first goal this season came at 11:43 of the third, broke a 2-2 tie and put New York in front for good.

Four other Islanders also scored once. Trent Hunter and Mike Sillinger both had two assists, and Wade Dubielewicz stopped 27 of 29 shots for the Islanders, who have won three of their last four games.

New Jersey got goals from Zach Parise in the second and John Madden in the third. Martin Brodeur was beaten four times on 32 shots for the Devils, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

The Islanders, who scored a power-play goal for the first time in six games, rose to 13

New Jersey has not scored a power play goal in its last five games.
