DETROIT, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- The Detroit Tigers, in a big off-season trade Tuesday, acquired third baseman Miguel Cabrera and left-hander Dontrelle Willis from the Florida Marlins.

In return, the Marlins reportedly will get left-handed pitcher Andrew Miller, outfielder Cameron Maybin and four other players.

Cabrera, rumored to be heading to the Anaheim Angels at the beginning of the week, joins a powerful Tigers lineup that includes Magglio Ordonez, Gary Sheffield, Carlos Guillen, Curtis Granderson, Edgar Renteria, Placido Polanco and Ivan Rodriguez. In 157 games last season, the four-time All-Star hit .320 with 34 home runs and 119 RBI, both career bests.

Willis, 25, is expected to complement a rotation of Justin Verlander, Jeremy Bonderman, Kenny Rogers and Nate Robertson. The 2003 National League Rookie of the Year in 2003, went 10-15 this year with a 5.17 earned run average.
