BALTIMORE, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Baltimore Ravens Coach Brian Billick has been given a contract extension by the NFL team.

Financial terms and length of the new contract were not released.

Billick's new deal comes on the heels of a 13-3 season for the Ravens, who finished the regular season with the second-best record in the AFC. Baltimore was eliminated from the playoffs last week by the Indianapolis Colts.

Billick, 52, has a 75-53 record over eight seasons in leading the Ravens. Baltimore won the Super Bowl in 2000.

In a post-season news conference Monday, Billick said: "We have fewer unanswered questions going forward than any time since I've been here with regard to our personnel, our quarterbacking situation, the direction of the offense, the personnel that will be staffing it. There are a lot of things to be optimistic about, and I'm excited about it going forward."
