NBA: LA Clippers 90, New York 80

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Elton Brand had 32 points, six rebounds and a career-high eight blocked shots Sunday as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the New York Knicks, 90-80.

Shaun Livingston added 15 points and seven assists for the Clippers, who won their third straight.

Eddy Curry, with 15 points, was high scorer for the Knicks, who lost for the third time in four games -- and a fifth straight time on the road. Stephon Marbury added 14 points and eight assists.

The Clippers took a 28-22 lead after the opening 12 minutes and extended that edge to 13 at halftime, 51-38.
