NBA: Charlotte 133, L.A. Lakers 124 (3 OT)

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Charlotte needed three overtimes and overcame a 58-point effort by Kobe Bryant Friday night to beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 133-124.

The Lakers had a 30-18 lead after the first quarter, but Charlotte pulled into a 60-60 halftime tie by out-scoring Los Angeles, 42-30, in the second quarter.

Gerald Wallace had 28 points and eight rebounds for Charlotte. Matt Carroll had 27 points and eight assists, while Emeka Okafor and Raymond Felton scored 22 points apiece for the Bobcats, who broke a three-game losing streak.

Felton also had 15 assists, and Okafor had a franchise-record 25 rebounds.

Bryant had 58 points, five rebounds and four assists. Luke Walton had 14 points and 11 rebounds, Smush Parker had 12 points and three assists, while Kwame Brown added 11 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers, who went 3-3 on a six-game road trip.

The game was tied, 105-105, at the end of regulation.
