EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Jason Kidd scored nine of his 23 points in the third quarter Wednesday night as New Jersey pulled away for an 88-70 win over Golden State.

The Nets have won 10 of their last 13 games.

A jumper by Jason Richardson with 3:17 left in the third period cut the Warriors' deficit to 60-55. But New Jersey closed the quarter with an 11-1 spurt to build a 71-56 cushion.

Golden State did not mount a serious challenge in the fourth quarter as Kidd sat out.

Kenyon Martin added 17 points to help New Jersey bounce back from Monday's 91-87 loss to Portland, which recorded its first road win of the season.

Richardson finished with 16 points for the Warriors, who have lost three in a row overall and six straight at New Jersey.
