DENVER, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Mike Keane was credited with the go-ahead goal as the Vancouver Canucks rallied for a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

Dan Cloutier kept the game tied with just over nine minutes left, reaching across the goalmouth and getting the paddle of his stick on Teemu Selanne 's point-blank shot.

Five minutes later, grinders Jarkko Ruutu , Artem Chubarov and Keane comprised an unlikely odd-man rush. Chubarov moved the puck to Keane, who had trouble controlling it, then pushed it with one hand into the low slot. The puck hit rookie defenseman John-Michael Liles and caromed past goaltender David Aebischer .

It was the fourth goal of the season and second in four games for Keane, who signed with Vancouver in the off-season after the Avalanche bought out his contract.

Matt Cooke scored a shorthanded goal and Bertuzzi had a power-play tally as the Canucks improved to an impressive 4-5-4 when trailing after two periods.

Steve Konowalchuk had both goals for Colorado, which had a three-game unbeaten streak snapped and has just one victory in its last nine contests (1-3-5).
