PHOENIX, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Daymond Langkow and Shane Doan each scored twice and linemate Daniel Briere added a goal and an assist Monday night as the surging Phoenix Coyotes handed the New York Rangers their second straight lopsided New Year's eve loss, 5-0.

Last season, New York traveled to Dallas on the last night of 2000 and was routed by the Stars, 6-1. The Coyotes matched that margin on their way to a third straight win.

Langkow had gone five games without a goal but scored twice in a 42-second span early in the second period to extend Phoenix's lead to 3-0. Doan capped the Coyotes' three-goal outburst, then completed the scoring just over six minutes into the third. He also had a pair of assists.

Sean Burke stopped 37 shots for his fourth shutout of the season, helping Phoenix extend its home unbeaten streak against the Rangers to five games (3

2).

Again playing without injured center Eric Lindros, New York had a three-game winning streak snapped and fell to 2-1-0 on a six-game road trip.
