Black pepper powder recalled in Canada

OTTAWA, March 27 (UPI) -- The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced the voluntary recall of National-brand black pepper powder because of possible salmonella contamination.

The recalled pepper powder, a product of Pakistan, was sold in 50-grain packages bearing UPC number 6 20514 00077 0 and the notation "B.B. END MAY. 2010."

The black pepper powder was distributed in Alberta and British Columbia.
