About 1,000 large and small trout were seen washing downstream after dying during a recent heat wave, The Denver Post reported Sunday.
Fishermen have noticed the change, and some who have been visiting the park for years are beginning to look for other places to fish.
Park authorities have barred fishing during the hottest parts of the day, the Post reported.
Yellowstone authorities and biologists are most eager to save the cutthroat trout, which is native to the Yellowstone rivers.
