BONITA SPRINGS, Fla., May 12 (UPI) -- A Florida man said he is filing suit against the Lee County sheriff's department after an officer ticketed him for sporting a Speedo on the beach.

Bob Hezzelwood, 61, said in all his years of spending time at Bonita Beach in Bonita Springs, Fla., he has never been confronted about wearing a Speedo bathing suit, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Monday.

Hezzelwood said he is suing the sheriff's department because he believes an officer went against his civil rights by unjustly issuing him a trespassing citation and asking him not to come back to the beach, WKMG said.

The citation, which Hezzelwood received more than a year after being warned about not wearing his Speedo on the beech, said he was in trouble for "exposed scrotum," and said he could "Never return to Bonita Beach Main Access," Naplesnews.com reported.

Even though the trespass warning was thrown out by a judge about a year ago, Hazzelwood said he still wants to sue because the officer exaggerated his claims.
