Horse pounds occupied car

Published: May 10, 2008 at 11:56 PM
PHILADELPHIA, May 10 (UPI) -- Two women in Philadelphia had a frightening experience Saturday when an escaped horse attacked their car.

The horse escaped from a stable in the Germantown neighborhood, WCAU-TV reported. The women were sitting in the car when the spooked animal shattered windows and pounded metal.

The women were hospitalized in unknown condition.

Emma Woods, a neighborhood resident, said the assault on the car was "unbelievable."

"You would hardly believe a horse did that -- that car was so messed up," she said.

The Germantown area, once a rural outpost of Philadelphia, is close to large parks where riding is popular.
