Fast-food eatery kept buns in bathroom

SANFORD, Fla., April 30 (UPI) -- Health inspectors said a Sanford, Fla., fast-food restaurant was found to have been storing hamburger buns on the floor of the men's room.

The inspectors said the improper bun storage at the restaurant was among the eatery's 12 alleged health violations -- which also included a faulty water treatment system -- that netted the restaurant hundreds of dollars in fines, WFTV, Orlando, Fla., reported Wednesday.

Customers said they previously complained to the manager about the location of the buns in the dirty restroom but she refused to address their concerns, WFTV said.

"The bread was stacked sky high to the ceiling, plus it was only about 12 inches from the men's commode," said Willie Jones, who added that he no longer eats at the location. He said his conversation with the manager was frustrating.

"'You got the bread in the men's restroom,'" he said he told her. "She got angry with me. She got T'd off and she locked the door," Jones told WFTV.

The manager of the fast-food location declined to comment, WFTV said.
