NEW YORK, March 28 (UPI) -- A New York teacher claims in a suit against the city Department of Education that a rodent infestation at her school led to her infection with scabies.
Yvonne Massaro, who taught television and video production at Edward R. Murrow High School in the city's borough of Brooklyn, said an infestation of mice and rats in the school's art department caused her scabies infection, as well as bronchial asthma and extreme chronic fatigue, the New York Sun reported Friday.
The suit, filed in the state Supreme Court in New York, claims the art department was smitten with a "mice and rat infested room, mice and rat feces on the floor, mice and rat eaten bags of candy, dirty floors, infected bags of dirty clothes and other infected clutter."
