SOUTH KITSAP, Wash., March 28 (UPI) -- The Kitsap County, Wash., sheriff's office says a fast-food worker was arrested for allegedly spitting on a burger destined for a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Deputies said a customer dressed in Steelers attire was "trading friendly barbs about his team and their victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL" while waiting for the food he and his daughters ordered, the Kitsap (Wash.) Sun reported Friday.

However, they said a 24-year-old fry cook and Seattle Seahawks fan took the Steelers enthusiast's remarks to heart and decided to do something about it.

The man said he opened his burger and found a "loogie" among the food and condiments inside. He contacted the manager and law enforcement, and a deputy who visited the fry cook's home said the employee admitted to spitting on the customer's burger to "gross him out ... because he was a Steelers fan."

Deputies said the suspect also turned over a bag of marijuana after the deputy confronted him about a smell coming from his home.

The employee was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault and possession of marijuana.
