Officials find lost dog at Boston airport

BOSTON, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Authorities at Boston's Logan International Airport have found a dog that was lost on airport grounds for three days, a report said.

Walker, a 2 1/2-year-old cocker spaniel-poodle mix from Winchester, was getting ready to board a flight to his new California home Wednesday when he escaped onto the tarmac after his kennel was blown off the plane's conveyor belt, The Boston Globe reported Tuesday.

"He's a great little dog, and I have even more respect for Walker, now that he's spent 60 hours wandering around on the runway," Walker's owner Terry Stibbards said.

When authorities tried to rescue the frisky canine, he reportedly bit one of them on the hand and took a leap into a nearby harbor.

After veterinarians said Walker survived his adventure in fine health, he was flown first-class by United Airlines to San Francisco Sunday, the newspaper said.
