BUFFALO, N.Y., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- A 6-year-old Buffalo, N.Y., girl was suspended from the school bus for three days after she kissed a second-grade boy.

Videotape from the bus Dec. 21 shows the girl checking to see if anyone was looking, and then planting childlike kisses on her classmate, her father, Frank Velazquez, told The Buffalo (N.Y.) News.

Velazquez said he gave his daughter a talking to because "you just don't go around kissing other kids," but he feels the penalty was unnecessarily harsh, the newspaper reported Sunday.

School officials, however, said the punishment was fitting for violations of the student code, which requires students to stay in their seats and not bother others.
