School Christmas tree fight gets violent

Published: Dec. 11, 2007 at 5:12 PM
CLARKSTON, Scotland, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- A fight between teachers at a Scottish nursery school over where to put a Christmas tree allegedly got physical.

Officials with the East Renfrewshire Council say that a teacher at the Busby Primary School in Clarkston was sent home and suspended with pay after she allegedly hit another teacher. The woman who was hit asked to have the incident handled internally without calling the police, a spokesman told The Scotsman.

"Some pupils did see the incident, and some parents," he said. "Various witnesses will be interviewed about the matter."

The tree is now in place at the nursery school.
