LONDON, July 19 (UPI) -- A British survey says men and women are doing less house cleaning and more socializing then they did six years ago.
The Office of National Statistics surveyed 5,000 British men and women and found that the average person spent two hours and 53 minutes a week on housekeeping in 2000 and just two hours and 22 minutes in 2005.
Ninety-two percent of women spent time cleaning each day, compared to 77 percent of men.
The Guardian newspaper said the survey showed men have 30 minutes more free time on the average day. Free time was defined as what is left after sleep, personal care, meals, paid work, domestic work, study and travel.
