CLARENCE, N.Y., May 31 (UPI) -- Photographs of a hairy beast taken outside a forest in western New York are not of a Sasquatch or Bigfoot, a University of Idaho professor has determined.

Hans Mobius, 72, was on his 100-acre horse farm in Clarence, outside Buffalo on Saturday, preparing to photograph some trees he wanted to sell when he was startled by the creature.

Mobius told the Buffalo News whatever it was appeared to be startled before zigzagging into denser brush.

"I told my wife and daughter to keep it to ourselves," said Mobius. "But my daughter said, you'd better send (the photos) to somebody."

One of the recipients was Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum, an assistant biological sciences professor at Idaho State University, who specializes in anatomy, evolutionary morphology, primatology and paleontology and has written extensively on Sasquatch footprints.

"It's obviously a man in a suit," said Meldrum. "Look at the forearms -- there's not natural taper at the wrist. It looks like a sleeve transitioning into a glove."
