LOS ANGELES, May 12 (UPI) -- Parvati Shallow has been awarded the $1 million grand prize and title of sole survivor on "Survivor: Micronesia -- Fans vs. Favorites."

The final tribal council, which capped the "Fans vs. Favorites" edition of the reality adventure series, aired on CBS Sunday night.

Shallow is a 25-year-old Florida native who now lives in Los Angeles. A former boxer, she helped create a non-profit organization called "Knockouts for Girls," a charity that provides scholarships and boxing lessons for underprivileged girls, Shallow's biography on CBS.com said.

Shallow finished in sixth place on "Survivor: Cook Islands."

"Survivor: Micronesia" pitted former contestants from past seasons of the show against fans of the long-running reality series.
