Van Halen to play Las Vegas charity event

LAS VEGAS, March 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. rock band Van Halen, coming off a brief hiatus, is set to resume performing at an upcoming benefit concert in Las Vegas.

The iconic band's most recent tour was interrupted for several weeks after guitarist Eddie Van Halen suffered an undisclosed health crisis.

The group, including Eddie Van Halen, is scheduled to perform April 19 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center at "Tiger Jam XI Presented by AT&T," a fundraising event to benefit the Tiger Woods Foundation and presided over by Woods himself.

"We heard you missed us; we're back! We rev up into high gear at 'Tiger Jam' on the next leg of our tour," the band said in a statement.

Up-and-coming R&B singer/songwriter Ryan Shaw is set to open for the band at the event.
