CULVER CITY, Calif., March 27 (UPI) -- Hollywood's Columbia Pictures said more than 1,800 engaged couples have entered its "'Made of Honor' Get Married at the Premiere" contest.

The competition is a joint venture between the film studio and the wedding Web site TheKnot.com.

Contestants wrote essays explaining why they should be selected to marry at the premiere of the wedding-themed movie starring Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan.

Now that the field has been narrowed down to 18 semifinalists, the public can follow the competition online at http://www.madeofhonor-movie.com/

Starting April 7, videos of the four finalists will be presented and the public will be invited to vote for their favorite couples.

The winning couple will be announced on "Entertainment Tonight" during the week of April 14.

Not only will the couple win the unique wedding experience, but it will also get a trip for four to the premiere city, including hotel, airfare, transportation and per diem, as well as the bride's wedding gown, the groom's tuxedo, wedding bands, a European honeymoon and a $3,000 gift card to Bed Bath & Beyond.
