CHICAGO, March 25 (UPI) -- Police in Illinois said they have recovered eight paintings snatched from a storage facility in Lincolnwood, Ill., and worth a total of about $100,000.

Chicago Police Sgt. Robert Belczak told the Chicago Tribune his gang team learned of the artwork's location from an informant at about 8 p.m. Monday. The paintings were recovered from a van by 11 p.m., he said.

Two men have been charged with felony burglary in connection with the theft of the paintings, as well as several guns, from the storage facility, the Tribune said.

One of the suspects, who is a reputed gang member, was also charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon, misdemeanor gun possession without a Firearm Owner's Identification Card and misdemeanor possession of ammunition without a Firearm Owner's Identification Card, the report said.
